Title: "Secret Lake" 8x10" acrylic on pine panel.
I used this little semi abstract painting as cover art on my Group of Seven Tribute music album "Riding The Rails in Paradise" a couple of years ago.
I did a series of small paintings after a fishing trip on Crooked Lake in the late summer of 2010. This lake is located in the Chapleau Game Preserve in Northern Ontario and is part of the historical canoe and fur trading route to the James Bay Coast starting at the Michipicoten River on Lake Superior. I conduct guided wilderness fishing excursions on these waters and never get tired of the incredible scenery I see on these trips.
Many of my clients have never heard of the Group of Seven. But they seem to like the stories I tell about the great legendary Lake Trout fishing guide Tom Thomson who liked to paint and sketch in Algonquin Park a few years back!
